Latasha N. Nevada Diggs

Writer and vocal­ist, Latasha N. Diggs rig­or­ously explores sound through a myr­iad of mac­a­ronic verse, pre-recorded text and post human vocal pro­cess­ing.
She has per­formed and col­lab­o­rated with Ver­non Reid, DJ Logic, Quincy Troupe; Lawrence ‘Butch’ Mor­ris and The Sky­scraper Ensem­ble, DJ Lit­tle Louie Vega and the Nuy­or­i­can Soul Orches­tra, Har­riet Tub­man fronted by Melvin Gibbs and Bran­don Ross, Ori Kaplan, Edwin Tor­res, Carl Han­cock Rux, and Guillermo E. Brown.
She has been fea­tured on record­ings by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Ver­non Reid, Towa Tei, Billy Bass aka OG Funk, Domenico Fer­rari, Mike Ladd, Guillermo E. Brown, and the com­pi­la­tion Ear­gasms: Hip-Hop Poet­ics, Vol­ume 1.
Her poetry, music cri­tiques and essays have been pub­lished in sev­eral mag­a­zines and jour­nals includ­ing; Vibe, The Source, Ego Trip, Urb, Long Shot, Drum Voices Review, Black Music Review (Japan), Bum Rush the Page, Authen­tic Hair, and Greg Tate’s anthol­ogy; Every­thing but the Bur­den.
She is the author of two chap­books, Ichi-Ban: from the files of negrita muneca morena linda and Ni-Ban: Villa Mis­e­ria.
A fel­low of the Cave Canem Work­shop for African Amer­i­can Poets, she was also a 2002 Artist in Res­i­dence at Har­vest­works Dig­i­tal Media Arts Cen­ter and 2003 recipi­ant of a New York Foun­da­tion for the Arts fellowship.
