Writer and vocal­ist, Latasha N. Dig­gs rig­or­ous­ly explores sound through a myr­i­ad of mac­a­ron­ic verse, pre-record­ed text and post human vocal pro­cess­ing.
She has per­formed and col­lab­o­rat­ed with Ver­non Reid, DJ Log­ic, Quin­cy Troupe; Lawrence ‘Butch’ Mor­ris and The Sky­scraper Ensem­ble, DJ Lit­tle Louie Vega and the Nuy­or­i­can Soul Orches­tra, Har­ri­et Tub­man front­ed by Melvin Gibbs and Bran­don Ross, Ori Kaplan, Edwin Tor­res, Carl Han­cock Rux, and Guiller­mo E. Brown.
She has been fea­tured on record­ings by Ryuichi Sakamo­to, Ver­non Reid, Towa Tei, Bil­ly Bass aka OG Funk, Domeni­co Fer­rari, Mike Ladd, Guiller­mo E. Brown, and the com­pi­la­tion Ear­gasms: Hip-Hop Poet­ics, Vol­ume 1.
Her poet­ry, music cri­tiques and essays have been pub­lished in sev­er­al mag­a­zines and jour­nals includ­ing; Vibe, The Source, Ego Trip, Urb, Long Shot, Drum Voic­es Review, Black Music Review (Japan), Bum Rush the Page, Authen­tic Hair, and Greg Tate’s anthol­o­gy; Every­thing but the Bur­den.
She is the author of two chap­books, Ichi-Ban: from the files of negri­ta muneca more­na lin­da and Ni-Ban: Vil­la Mis­e­ria.
A fel­low of the Cave Canem Work­shop for African Amer­i­can Poets, she was also a 2002 Artist in Res­i­dence at Har­vest­works Dig­i­tal Media Arts Cen­ter and 2003 recipi­ant of a New York Foun­da­tion for the Arts fel­low­ship.
